Because our Spot prawns grow in such cold water, they are renowned for their sweet, delicate flavor and firm texture. All prawns and shrimp we sell are freshly trap caught and still alive-making them the very freshest available.

Puget Sound Prawns is a Co-Operative of small-boat, family-crewed, local fisherman, each who have been commercial fishing most of their adult lives.

When and where are wild Spot Prawns available?

Late June—August in Cap Sante Boat Haven, "B—dock," Anacortes, WA

Why should I care where my prawns come from?

• Only about 1% of all seafood coming into the US is inspected by the FDA.

• Farm raised, imported prawns are not held to any standards.

• Local, wild, trap caught prawns are better for the environment and offer a much healthier choice for you.

• Imported farm raised prawns pollute and degrade their surrounding environment.

Will a higher demand for wild, domestic prawns deplete the supply, as with other fisheries we have seen in Washington state?

No. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) closely monitors the fishery and implements actions to sustain the resource:

• Small number of licenses

• Limited number of traps per license

• Restricted quotas
